Woods Climate camp (IT)

From the top of our trees, we can see a better future.
From the Venice lagoon to the woods of Vicenza.
The only real major public work is protecting health, environment and land.
The “Venice Climate Camp” is back, from the 5th to the 8th of September and, for it’s 5th edition, it moves to Vicenza.

From the 3rd of May we are rescuing and defending 25000 square meters of city woods in Vicenza threatened by the construction of the major public work TAV (high speed train).
A fight involving hundreds of citizens who are rediscovering the importance of the wild green spaces in our regions.

We withstand, knowing that our is one of the many regions threatened by a system leaded only by profit.
Concrete, major works, resource plunder, biodiversity destruction: these are the politics imposed by those on power. More people than ever are opposing to these politics with withstand, care, share of knowledge and resources and defending the common good.
This happens in Vicenza and in many other places.

From the top of the trees in our woods, withstanding, we feel part of the ecosystem and not their owner. From there we can look at those other places. We can clearly see people fighting against new reservois and the privatization of public water in France; people fighting to defend forests against the expansions of mines and industrial districts in Germany; people fighting against the TAV in the Susa valley in Italy and many examples of withstand from activists in any part of the word fighting against the climate change.

We look at those other places now and we want to connect all these fights to enforce them with a new strength and to open them to a new perspective. For three days we will camp together, joining debates and workshops, creating actions together.

Three days to draw together a map with the compass always pointing to the same direction: “One solution, Revolution”.
Lets build together, in the resisting woods of Vicenza an “other place” where we can grow roots and create relations between people, following the example of the trees we are defending.
