Networks of lawyers and law enthusiasts who support activists across Europe.
In recent years we have been facing ever deepening interconnected crises – growing inequality, persisting discrimination, rise of armed conflicts, climate breakdown, forced migration and the cost of living crisis. In response, people are taking to the streets to call out the false solutions, hypocrisy and lack of action by the European authorities and elites, and to demand accountability from those in power.
Since autumn of 2022, the Movement Hub coordinates Legally Green – an informal network of lawyers who support activists across Europe and activist-led legal support groups. The network has over 100 members from over 60 organizations in more than 20 countries in Europe.
The network operates via mailing list and meets bi-monthly to share experience, discuss cases, trends, get help, learn from each other to increase our collective capacities to resist legal repressions.
We also offered the opportunity to stay informed by subscribing to a Newsletter. It’s was a monthly summary of ongoing court cases, legal developments, solidarity call outs and crowdfunding initiatives related to the repression of climate and social justice activists across Europe.

WEBINARS with professionals, which you can watch below.
Objection! Campaigning around courtcases
Activists are sent to years in prisons for trying to stop the climate breakdown. At the same time other activists are winning cases on the basis of countries failing on their obligations to provide a safe climate for their citizens. What role are the courts and activists´ trials playing in the fight for climate justice and human rights? How can the public be involved in courtroom affairs?
In an attempt to understand the current situation better and to explore avenues to advance our work through courts, we invite you to watch this webinar.
Right to protest: State of play, solidarity and resistance
Protests have been and remain a crucial tool of individual and collective expression, a vehicle for advancing human rights and a cornerstone of civic participation. In their many shapes and forms they have been a powerful way of making one’s voice heard in the face of injustice and oppression. But is the right to protest in Europe in danger?
In an attempt to raise awareness and continue demanding the protection of our rights, we invite you to watch this webinar organised by Amnesty International, Global Climate Legal Defense and The Movement Hub.
